General description of the program:

GOAL has been operating in Syria since 2013, responding to the most urgent needs of conflict-affected communities. GOAL is active in Idleb province through both direct implementation and partners, delivering food and non-food items to particularly vulnerable populations. By supporting water supply units, GOAL provides water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) and emergency assistance to recently displaced households.

Area of ​​responsibility:

The HR Training Assistant – Part Time – Maternity Cover at GOAL is responsible for developing and implementing training plans, assessing employee training needs, maintaining training records and coordinating various training activities to enhance the skills and abilities of our workforce. This role plays an important role in ensuring our employees receive the necessary training and development opportunities to excel in their roles and support GOAL’s mission and goals.

Tasks, goals and competencies

  • Training planning and development:
  • Develop comprehensive training plans and schedules in accordance with GOAL guidelines.
  • Work with Human Resources to plan annual training activities in line with the training budget.
  • Work with department managers to identify and determine employee training needs.
  • Identify and analyze training gaps and recommend appropriate training solutions.
  • Identify and prioritize training topics based on organizational goals and employee development needs.
  • Stay up to date on training best practices to continuously improve training programs.
  • Training leader:
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date training records for all training activities.
  • Update the workout tracker regularly to monitor workout progress and adherence.
  • Process and organize all training requests and Organizational Qualification Request Forms (OQRFs).
  • Inform employees about training opportunities and make it easy for them to register.
  • Training database management:
  • Create and maintain a comprehensive employee database to capture training needs and track completed training.
  • Use the database to create detailed training analytics and develop future training initiatives and strategies.
  • Ensure that annual performance appraisal data related to employee development needs is accurately reflected and documented in the database to enable comprehensive tracking of employee development.
  • Collaboration with external partners:
  • Maintain relationships with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and training centers involved in capacity building.
  • Coordinate and organize external training and capacity building plans for GOAL staff.
  • Online training support:
  • Support and assist the GOAL team in conducting online training on the GOAL-authorized training platform LINGOS.
  • Manage all relevant matters on the LINGOS platform (opening new accounts, closing accounts of departing employees, etc.)
  • Make sure online training materials are accessible and user-friendly.
  • Other:
  • Any other tasks assigned by HRM.

Requirements (mandatory)

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in human resources, business, education or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in training and capacity building, preferably in a non-governmental organisation or similar setting
  • At least one year of experience in conducting and coordinating training courses, particularly with NGOs.
  • The candidate must demonstrate excellent communication skills (oral and written), which will be assessed during the interview.
  • Possession of a Train-of-Trainer (TOT) certification.
  • Project DPro certification is an advantage.
  • Strong skills in organizational and project management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and oral)
  • Competence in using training management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiar with e-learning platforms and technology.
