Damnok Toek (“drop of water” in English and “goutte d’eau” in French) is a Cambodian organization that works with vulnerable children, young adults and their families. Damnok Toek (DT) runs projects in Poi Pet, Neak Loeung and Kep in the areas of child protection, safe migration and disability. Role and responsibilities

Communication:

  • Responsible for a user-friendly DT website and all DT social media communications that are relevant, inspiring, informative and sales-driving to the audience.
  • Responsible for the development of the DT annual report in collaboration with projects and departments.
  • Document DT’s work through articles, case studies, impact stories, brochures, posters, images, videos, etc. to keep current stakeholders informed and attract new partners and donors.
  • Develop ad hoc communication materials based on external and internal requests.
  • Develop an annual communications work plan in collaboration with the finance and fundraising team.
  • Train and coach project teams in collecting content and taking images for communication purposes.
  • Develop/update and standardize DT communication templates, e.g. PowerPoint, email, concept note, video, report.
  • Operate a clear and accessible information system for communication management.
  • Stay up to date with new communications trends and strategies and explore how you can innovate DT’s communications work with the Head of Finance and Fundraising.

Collaboration with the fundraising team:

  • Get involved in mapping and reaching out to new potential donors as part of your fundraising strategy.
  • Work with the fundraising team to explore and develop concepts for local fundraising.
  • Help us with desk research and data gathering for proposal writing.
  • Support in writing proposals, reports and official communications.

Employees who report to the Head of Communications:

No direct personnel management, but targeted networking and collaboration with project teams and specialist departments is essential.

Job requirements/qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or relevant professional experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in communications and/or social media
  • Fluent written and spoken English, Khmer language is a plus
  • Computer skills: Experience in using Microsoft Office, WordPress, Canva (or other graphic design platforms), video editing skills an advantage
  • Strong planning skills, time management and analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Dynamic, honest and positive attitude, ability to work in a team, resilience, interpersonal communication skills
