Get AI ready: Inside the Copilot Learning Hub by info.odysseyx@gmail.com September 24, 2024 written by info.odysseyx@gmail.com September 24, 2024 0 comment 6 views 6 When we are building Copilot Learning Hub on Microsoft Learn Earlier this year, I realized how much Copilot is changing the way so many people, from my 78-year-old father to my teammates, complete their daily tasks. As an AI companion, I gained first-hand insight into how Copilot is helping me be more creative and efficient across a wide range of activities. When Microsoft released it co-pilot In March 2023, our customers asked us: They wanted to know how they could use Copilot to be more productive in their work and personal lives. They wanted to know how to use Copilot in Microsoft 365 applications like Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams, and how to leverage Copilot for developers, data scientists, and security professionals. To answer these questions and more, we created the Copilot Learning Hub in May 2024. I recently asked: Donna Sarkar and Dan WahleenMicrosoft Principal Cloud Advocates and Learning Hub team members shared a few examples of how they created this powerful resource. Donna said the Copilot Learning Hub is “designed to meet learners at any stage of their learning and adoption journey,” “from understanding and using Copilot, to customizing Copilot with their own data, and finally creating their own Copilot.” The Learning Hub targets a technical audience and ensures that each learner has access to content tailored to their learning objectives. These resources are: AI Learning HubDesigned for both technical and non-technical learners. These objectives are grouped into four task-based Microsoft Learn official collections—Understand, Adopt, Scale, and Build—that provide content tailored to each stage of your learning journey. Each collection contains a variety of training modules, articles, and videos. Learners can also access content that applies to specific technical roles, such as administrators, data analysts, and developers. One of the things learners love most about the Hub is the video library featuring Copilot training content and customer use cases. According to Dan Wahlin, “People want to see what’s possible and the benefits they can get from using Copilot, so our videos focus on that angle. We show how Copilot makes their personal and work lives easier and more productive, how it enhances creativity, and how people can get started and experience these benefits firsthand.” Donna added that the videos showcase the many applications of Copilot across Microsoft products and services. “People share their favorite Copilot use cases and how they leverage Copilot in different scenarios,” she said. “This approach features stories from a variety of experts, making the content more relevant and engaging.” Watch this video to learn how cultural change and human factors play a critical role in the successful implementation of AI technologies like Copilot. Dona shared her story of how Copilot helped her learn and changed the way she learned a new programming language. Recently, after working in C# for 20 years, she learned Python using GitHub Copilot as her coding coach. Dona recalls that it took her a year to learn JavaScript a few years ago, but it only took her a month to learn Python using Copilot. “That’s a huge change. Imagine how Copilot can help both expert and novice programmers learn new skills and do their jobs better,” she said. That’s the real promise of the Copilot learning hub: leveraging expert content to help you excel using Copilot. With all the excitement around Copilot, we’re continuing to deliver new resources for our learners. “We’ve had great feedback from our learners about the Copilot Learning Hub. They’ve expressed how much they appreciate the comprehensive resources and real-world examples,” says Dan. “They’ve also provided great feedback that we’re continually applying to take the Copilot Learning Hub to the next level.” Erica Woods, director and principal of contractor programs and philanthropy at Apex Systems in Tampa, Florida, has completed several of the modules and videos featured in the Learning Hub. “I appreciate the many things about the Copilot Learning Hub,” Erica said. “The insights into the many ways to apply the technology that are directly and easily applicable to everyday life, the bite-sized chunks in which the training segments are presented, the demo-style learning, the fun and conversational style of the videos, and the variety of topics included.” So what’s next? There are a few new resources you can expect to see in the coming months, each designed to further streamline your workflow and enhance your Copilot experience. In the weeks leading up to Microsoft Ignite, you’ll see new content on Copilot’s “agentification.” What is an agent? An agent is a pilot that can act independently, triggered by events as well as conversations, to automate and orchestrate complex, long-running business processes with less human intervention. For example, an “order taker” pilot could handle the end-to-end order fulfillment process from order taking, through order processing, intelligent recommendations and replacements for out-of-stock items, and delivery to the customer. We’re also working on stories that show how Microsoft customers and partners are helping. Their customers Leverage Copilot, especially in specialized industries such as finance, manufacturing, etc. Next article: In the next Get AI ready blog, learn how Microsoft Training Services Partners (TSPs) are helping organizations around the world build AI skills and stay competitive.
