Fully funded PhD position in Operando X-ray analysis of next generation batteries at Uppsala University

Designation: PhD student in operando X-ray analysis of next-generation batteries

Research area: Energy storage and sustainable battery technologies.

Location: Uppsala, Sweden

Authorization/Qualification:

  • Second degree or equivalent experience in relevant fields such as computational chemistry, physics or materials science.
  • Good knowledge of English.
  • Has not been in Sweden full-time for more than 12 months to work or study in the period from 30 August 2021 to 31 August 2024.
  • Must meet the requirements for a doctorate and have the ability to work in a team, be energetic and independent.

Job description:

  • Conduct cutting-edge research on operando X-ray analysis of batteries.
  • Perform X-ray diffraction and absorption spectroscopy on different battery chemistries simultaneously.
  • Develop and apply Python-based data analysis pipelines to extract correlated information.
  • Participate in research projects, publish articles and present results at international conferences.
  • Collaborate with national and international partners on research communication and feedback interpretation.
  • Attend project meetings, training sessions and professional courses to expand your knowledge.
