Mars, Jr. We are accepting applications for chocolate history research grants. Forrest E. Mars, Jr. Chocolate History grants enable us to create immersive experiences, research projects, and publications that bring these important cultural moments to life. This year they are launching classroom resource grants for K-12 student teachers in the United States. They’ve seen how engaged young people are when learning about the history of chocolate and want to help educators bring this story and needed resources into the classroom. The scholarship process is highly competitive and awards are made on the basis of excellence as judged by a panel of experts. Educational impacts will be at the forefront of this decision process, as will concerns about equity, inclusion, and diversity in the proposals. Forrest E. Mars, Jr. Chocolate History Grant winners will be announced at the Heritage Chocolate Association Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C., February 19-20, 2025. Feedback on grant applications will be provided at the following times: The selection process is now complete. funds information A minimum grant of $50,000 is available. Eligibility Criteria We recommend that you apply early. Eligibility requirements are as follows: You must be a non-profit organization or a non-profit 501(c)(3) individual. Research Institutes are organizations that do not operate primarily for profit. OR Must be a teacher educator in a K-12 public school in the United States. To receive a grant, you must attend a Heritage Chocolate Society (HCS) meeting, either in person or digitally. Grants must be implemented before the next HCS meeting. Grant winners will be asked to present their results in person or digitally at the next HCS meeting. All publications must be approved by Mars, Incorporated before production.
