Face Check is now generally available

Earlier this year we announced: Public Preview of Face Check with Microsoft Entra Verified ID – Privacy-preserving face matching for high-assurance identity verification and the first premium feature of Microsoft Entra Verified ID. Today, I am excited to announce: Verify your face with Microsoft Entra Verified ID Generally available, available on its own or as part of the Microsoft Entra Suite, a complete identity solution that combines network access, identity protection, governance, and identity verification capabilities to deliver Zero Trust access.

The risk of impersonation and account takeover is increasing. Malicious actors use insecure credentials in 66% of attack vectors. For example, an impersonator can use compromised passwords to fraudulently log into a system. With the advancement of generative AI, Sophisticated impersonation tactics like deepfakes It’s also growing. Many organizations routinely onboard new employees remotely and offer remote help desks. Powered by Azure AI services, Face Check adds a critical layer of trust by matching a user’s live selfie with a photo on a Verified ID, typically taken from a trusted source like a passport or driver’s license. Face Check protects your users’ privacy while strengthening your organization’s identity verification by only sharing matches, not sensitive identity data. It can detect and reject a variety of spoofing techniques, including deepfakes, to fully protect your users’ identities.
