Extend Viva Connections with pre-built 3rd party Adaptive cards

Viva Connections is a gateway to employee experience, providing an extensible platform through a dashboard where employees can see a list of actionable cards that can be connected to Microsoft Teams apps, Viva apps and services, partner apps, and custom solutions using the SharePoint Framework (SPFx) framework, internal links, and external links.

In this blog, we’ll look at a few of the many third-party card integrations available. ~ in Viva Connections can extend the capabilities of Viva Connections to enable organizations to integrate third-party external tools, services, and data directly into their workflows, and add business-critical investments made in other services directly to employee dashboards. Custom or Create your own dashboard cards While virtually any organization can meet its employee needs, this blog will highlight a few prepackaged cards from Microsoft partners that can be easily added to your app.

ServiceNow Cards help employees get support, find answers, and get things done from HR, IT, and other departments. Once you deploy the card, you can quickly view your task list by selecting View My Tasks. The ServiceNow Adaptive Card extension also provides a quick entry point into the app by simply selecting Visit Employee Center.

The UKG card allows employees to view their pay information, review their work schedule, shifts and paid time off to get a clearer picture of their future priorities.

Achievers for Viva Connections extends the Achievers Employee Experience platform into employees’ daily workflows. Members can enjoy some of the same activities they love from the Achievers program: viewing upcoming celebrations, recognitions received, trending recognitions, and taking quick actions, all from a dashboard within Viva Connections.

Qualtrics Cards seamlessly brings experience management to Viva Connections. With quick access to survey and feedback tools, organizations can gather valuable insights and take action on employee, customer, and product experiences right from their dashboards. Qualtrics Cards connect directly to surveys, informing employees when feedback is needed and removing common barriers to feedback across the organization.

Viva Connections brings Workday data and tasks directly from the dashboard to employees’ fingertips through Workday Cards. This integration gives users access to Workday tasks such as inbox items, leave balances, and more, streamlining HR processes and saving employees time on administrative tasks.

How to access and install third-party cards

There are a few simple steps. Anyone can find the application available, but only an IT administrator can install it.

1. All users can find the application through: Microsoft AppSource or SharePoint Store. You will need administrator privileges in SharePoint to install.
2. Select “Get it now” to request that the application be added to the App Catalog site in your SharePoint environment.
3. In collaboration with your IT manager, App Distribution Add to your Viva Connections dashboard.
4. Once Viva Connections is deployed in your organization, all employee users will have access to the app in Viva Connections.
