ExpressRoute Metro is now generally available!!

We are pleased to announce the general availability of ExpressRoute Metro, a new private connectivity architecture designed to improve the resiliency of our customers’ networks. ExpressRoute Metro provides a highly resilient circuit that enables multiple connections to two separate edge sites within the city, ensuring increased redundancy and reliability.

With Metro Provider and Metro Direct, customers benefit from increased redundancy across their line and port infrastructure while gaining an additional layer of resiliency at the edge site level. The solution is designed to maintain strong connectivity even in the event of a site-wide failure, ensuring uninterrupted service and business continuity.

Highlights:

• Improved resilience: Dual home connectivity between two different edge sites provides improved resiliency.
• Location coverage: Metro is currently available in Amsterdam, Singapore, and Zurich, with more locations scheduled to launch in the coming months, including Atlanta, Milan, Madrid, Chicago, and Dublin.
• Simple setup: The setup process is designed for simple and easy configuration and features an guided portal that provides clear navigation assistance.
