Australia’s star batter David Warner had said goodbyes to International cricket after his team took a surprising exit from the T20 World Cup as Afghanistan beat Bangladesh to enter the semi-finals on Tuesday.

Warner had been long saying that this T20 World Cup would be his final tournament in International cricket. He played his last ODI in November(2023) against India in the World Cup final and his last Test match against Pakistan in January this year. However, he kept his doors open for the Champions Trophy due in 2025.

As the Aussies take a sudden exit from the tournament many of the team mates are unhappy that they cannot give a proper farewell to the legendary opening batsmen.

Cricket Australia on their social media handle put up a post for Warner and thanked him for his services. They recalled some of his most memorable moments in the post.

David Warner, who played 110 international T20s had scored 3,277 runs with a strike rate of 142.47. He is the most successful player for the Australian side as he is the leading run-getter in T20Is for the Kangaroos.
