Okapi Consulting is recruiting an Editor / a Regional Editor – There are also programs that integrate their terrain in the Lac Tchad Basin sub-region. We are looking for a regional editor with talent, motivation and experience. Delivery will be to N’Djamena.

She worked with the regional editor and editor-in-chief for editorial content production of Radio Ndarason Internationale (RNI).

RNI is a regional radiophonic network broadcast by farms and FM in the large region of the Bassin du Lac Tchad in Kanouri, Kanembou and Boudouma. RNI has its studios and broadcasting points in Maiduguri, in Nigeria; to N’Djamena, in Chad; to Mora in Cameroon; and to Diffa in Niger.

Created and founded by ONG Okapi Consulting based in Africa, the international radio network Radio Ndarason has created a platform that allows a free dissemination of information on the Lake Chad basin. This regional radiophonic network covers 10 million people, spoken Kanouri, Kanembou and Boudouma; the population is affected by the violence of armed groups in this zone. RNI promotes a constructive dialogue for the people and development in this region. Key Responsibilities

The editor and the deputy assistant regional editor and chef are a team of about 100 journalists, journalists, administrators, staff and technicians in Maiduguri N’Djamena, Mora and Diffa, as well as correspondents in other cities de la sub-region.

They are responsible for the quality of the programs and programming, production standards and compliance with journalistic formats.

She worked in an international collaboration with the editor and the regional chef to ensure that the goals and objectives of the project are taken into account. Her work is also linked to the person in charge of operations, finance and human resources, and she is involved in recruitment, directing performances, managing projects and special programs.

Description of the article

• In collaboration with the editor and the regional chef, she supervised the editors of 4 countries in the production of magazines and programs.
• Directs the daily production of programs and current regional editions
• Select and control the different regional content for RNI’s programs and editions.
• In cooperation with other members, human resources managers, supervisors and ensuring the quality of the RNI’s program implementations.
• Ensuring connection with partners in content creation
• Starting new partnerships for content creation and implementation;
• Innovation and regional programming material.
• Work in international cooperation with the Regional Coordinator to ensure that all RNI issues are consistent with the RNI’s mandate and on behalf of its public opinion.
• Working in an international collaboration with the following teams and the evaluation.
• Contributor to the creation and editing of content for RNI websites (French and English).
• Supports improving and extending RNI’s social media presence.

Criteria for the position of editor and chef

• Only 10 years of journalistic experience in production, recording of journalists and current radio programs (registered and direct).
• Experience in managing journalists / editorial rooms / production teams
• Work experience in Africa, particularly in the fragile zone / conflict zone.
• Experience in the fields of journalistic base and education: editing, digital audio mixing (Cool-Edit\Adobe Audition) of magazines, interviews, reports, debates, radiophonic forum, musical performances, interactivity…)
• Strong experience in music programming. (Mastering a logic for programming emissions and music is a plus)
• Understand budgets and financial control in an NGO
• Experience working in a large international team with additional pay;
• The applicant has excellent interpersonal skills, strong oral and written communication skills and in-depth communication knowledge.
• She has excellent analytical skills, good performance and good judgement.
• She is also able to quickly navigate a multicultural environment and gain a comprehensive understanding of different cultures and specific societies in the region.
• She has the ability to work effectively in a diverse skill set environment.
• She developed productive professional relationships with a wide range of parties within the organization and throughout the region.
