I’m excited to announce the release of Data from Picture, a new feature that lets you convert images with table data into editable data in Excel! Import data from a picture in Excel for Windows Have you ever had to enter data from a printed page into Excel? Wouldn’t it be a lot easier if you could just take a picture and let Excel do the tedious data entry for you? Of course you would! The new Data from Picture feature in Excel for Windows lets you insert data from a picture on your clipboard or an image file on your computer. No need to type in all the data. Excel does it for you! How it works Capture the content you want to digitize using one of the options below. After you capture a picture of the content you want to import into Excel, the Data window for the picture appears. This shows the progress of the image as it is analyzed. Analyzing data from images Review the results, apply any necessary corrections, and then select. Insert data. Now your data is in your Excel worksheet! Review the data and make adjustments if necessary. Scenarios to try Screen capture of a table from a website. If you’ve ever tried to copy and paste data from a website, you’ve probably noticed that there are often formatting inconsistencies. Instead, capture an image of the table (by pressing Windows+Shift+S) and then data > In the photo > Photo from clipboard. Then follow the on-screen instructions and you will get what you want. Take a picture of the printed data. You may be importing data from previous tax returns into Excel and only have printed copies. No problem. Just take a photo of each and transfer them to your Windows computer (OneDrive is a good choice for this). Then select Next. data > In the photo > Photo from file. Follow the on-screen instructions to convert photos to data. Requirements This feature supports the following languages and recognizes the following character sets: English, Bosnian, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Serbian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish and Turkish. effectiveness The Data in Pictures feature is rolling out to Office Insiders running Beta Channel Version 2207 (Build 15402.20002) or later.
