Hello, Microsoft 365 Insiders! My name is Greg MacEachern and I’m a product manager on the OneNote team. We’re excited to share that Copilot functionality has been added to OneNote for iPad and Mac, available only to enterprise customers.

We know we spend too much time at work doing boring tasks, and you want to spend more time doing things that bring you joy and spark your creativity. Copilot in OneNote for iPad and Mac helps you get things done faster and more efficiently.

Copilot stays with you, included with OneNote and the other Microsoft 365 apps you use every day. It helps you unleash the power of AI to create higher productivity, more creativity, and higher-level skills.

How it works

    1. Sign in to your Microsoft 365 commercial account and open the OneNote notebook associated with that account.

  • “Please use my notes on this page to help me plan for opening a team office in Tucson.”
  • “Suggest three ways this paragraph could be rewritten to be more concise.”

Known limitations

  • OneNote’s Copilot voice typing feature is not currently available on iPad (a fix is ​​coming soon).
  • Copilot only has context for the current section and page. Notebook context is coming soon.

To use this feature you will need:

This feature is available to Beta Channel users who meet the requirements outlined above and:

  • OneNote for Mac: Version 16.90 (Build 24101387) or later.
  • OneNote for iPad: Version 16.90 (Build 24100817) or later.

memo: This feature is not yet available to Microsoft Copilot Pro users (consumer licenses). But it’s coming soon!

Features will be released over time to ensure smooth operation. We’re highlighting features you may not have as they are slowly being rolled out to a larger number of Insiders. Sometimes we remove elements for further improvement based on your feedback.
