Call for Participation: ILHAM Art Show 2025 (Malaysia)

ILHAM Art Show is a triennial exhibition platform where both established and emerging artists can experiment and create new works. Those selected to participate in ILHAM Art Show will receive an art production grant to be used to create new works. ILHAM Art Show serves as a platform to support and promote contemporary art in Malaysia, stimulating lively public discussion and critical debate.

Funding Information

• The gallery will provide each artist with a production grant of between RM2,000 and RM10,000 (the amount will be determined based on the proposed work agreed upon by ILHAM), which the artist may use to produce their artwork.

Qualification criteria

• The ILHAM Art Show is open to all practicing artists 21 years of age or older. This includes:
  • All artists residing in Malaysia (Malaysian and non-Malaysian).
  • All Malaysian artists working overseas.
• Open to both individual artists and arts organizations.

Selection criteria

• ILHAM Art Show aims to showcase original artworks that reflect the diversity and vibrancy of the Malaysian art scene. The selection panel has access to all applications.
• Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee, who will consider work they deem significant, relevant, and timely.
• Due to the anticipated volume of applications, ILHAM Gallery curators will conduct an initial pre-selection in which all eligible applications will be accessible to the selection committee.
• Selected artists will be formally notified via email by March 2025.
• The decision of the selection committee is final and there will be no correspondence regarding it.
