Call for applications: India Leadership Journey 2025

This program provides contextually relevant tools and frameworks to address the personal, organizational, and societal challenges facing women leaders in global health today.

Participants will engage in two face-to-face experiential learning residencies (Immerse and Lift Off) in addition to virtual learning touchpoints, virtual group mentoring, virtual one-on-one coaching sessions, and the all-important self-directed leadership project, all supported by the Leadership Journey community and health experts.

At WomenLift Health, they are intentionally focused on diversity, equity, inclusion, and intersectionality, which is expressed through their approach, behaviors, values, internal processes, and commitment to continuous learning. They believe that for leadership to be truly transformational, it must advocate, speak up, and represent women with diverse life experiences.

• The journey design focuses on eight essential leader competencies.
  • Leader Identity: Demonstrates a clear sense of self, including awareness and monitoring of the factors that drive a leader’s intentions, actions, and impact on others.
  • Confidence and courage: Demonstrates inner strength and reliance on personal abilities.
  • Building Relationships: Apply a comprehensive and discerning approach to developing new and existing relationships.
  • Developing Others: We work collaboratively to foster healthy team dynamics, provide guidance and support to actively build the capacity of others, and grow the pipeline of diverse health leaders.
  • Ecosystem Mindset: Develop a broad vision, embrace transformational thinking, and apply cultural intelligence to decision-making.
  • Leader Agility: Envision the big picture, be discerning and diverse, and lead change processes.
  • Resilience: Maintaining the energy and mindset to lead as your best self.
  • Leadership Presence: Being recognized as a respected and trusted leader within the organization.

Qualification criteria

• You will be considered if you meet all of the following criteria:
  • I think you are a woman.
  • You will work in a role focused on public health policy, practice and/or research (your work and partnerships will be population-focused at a national or local level in India and may include public health practice, research and innovation production, policy formulation or implementation, service delivery support or management of public health teams/departments or projects/grants).
  • I have 10-25 years of working experience in the public health field in India.
  • You are an Indian national, living and working in India.
  • Ability to communicate freely in English, both written and oral.
