The position will report to the Deputy Director of the NetHope Center for the Digital Nonprofit. The Business Analyst will collaborate with NetHope CDN leadership, NetHope program and leadership, and others in the NetHope ecosystem to conduct research and analysis through data collection, analysis, meetings, interviews, and existing information in various formats. The Business Analyst will also regularly maintain and enhance the NetHope CDN core data structure and database and provide information from this source as needed. Through research and data analysis, the Business Analyst will provide relevant insights to NetHope members and the broader NetHope community, identify opportunities for improved collaboration, and support NetHope’s strategy, programs, member engagement, external relations, and data management. Specific tasks include: Research Understand the needs of NetHope members and their ecosystem of local organizations and implementers, technology partners, and other stakeholders to align research with their overlapping interests to achieve meaningful impact. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to explore, analyze, report and present common findings, patterns and insights to internal and external audiences through meetings, webinars and learning sessions. Document current and future use cases of the technology along the value chain in the nonprofit sector. Publish reports and blogs on research topics Use research and data to advise and support team members in generating program ideas Information management Conduct qualitative/quantitative research on the NetHope ecosystem, maintain and update the data framework as needed to organize data Follow defined processes to regularly update and maintain data Maintain published research products and update or expand them as needed Support the implementation of NetHope’s strategy and programs by responding to NetHope’s requests for information for relevant information from the CDN database. NetHope CDN services and tools Administer NetHope’s assessments such as Digital Nonprofit Ability and Digital Nonprofit Skills, and frameworks such as the IDEA Journey™, and mentor members on their use. Identify and explore opportunities for service and operational improvement Moderation Lead, moderate, prepare content and participate in the “New Technologies/AI” working group. Develop and lead webinars and similar events with NetHope members and the CDN team Engage members, partners and other stakeholders by providing them with timely and appropriate information and by working with them to develop ideas on how they can participate in the CDN. You are able to organize your workload excellently and enjoy driving the work forward independently Think strategically and change your tactics while achieving bigger goals Ability to tell stories with data – Ability to build a coherent and insightful narrative around data and help communicate the meaning of information in a powerful and compelling way Experience in using different analysis techniques – collecting, organizing and interpreting data sets using data analysis tools (e.g. Microsoft Excel) Good experience in cooperation in the activation and implementation of projects Ability to break down complex problems into their components and evaluate systematic patterns Multilingual oral and written communication skills in French, Spanish or one of the main African languages are an advantage Education and experience University education or proven equivalent professional experience required At least two years of relevant experience required, for example in analyzing digital transformation or analyzing trends in the nonprofit sector, or both. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; Slack, Box, Asana, Salesforce or similar tools are a plus NetHope Member Experience is highly valued, experience with other NGOs is an advantage Reporting and working conditions: This is a full-time position reporting to the Deputy Director of the NetHope Center for the Digital Nonprofit. NetHope is a virtual organization, so our team, members and partners are spread across the world. Due to the global nature of the organization, meetings may be required at any time of the day to engage with our stakeholders in different time zones.
