How to get Microsoft 365 Insider builds on macOS

1. Select the Insider level

Microsoft 365 Insider for Mac is available at two levels to Microsoft 365 subscribers. Beta Channel and Current Channel (Preview).

Beta Channel

It’s best for people who want to use the latest builds to identify issues, provide feedback on new features that are still in development, and don’t mind taking some risks with unsupported builds.

Current Channel (Preview)

Best for fans or early adopters who want early access but want less frequent and more stable updates. Builds come out monthly and are fully supported.

2. Install the Insider build

1. Open a Microsoft 365 app, such as Word or Excel, and then click Next. help > Check for updates > Advanced.
   

2. Select the channel you want:

   • Current Channel (Preview) Get early access to fully supported builds with minimal risk.

   • Beta Channel A good option if you want the earliest preview builds that are released more frequently but are not supported.

   

3. Review the information collected and license agreement when you use the app.

4. Choose Accept Then Check for updatesDownload the latest update.
