The City Council of Bau-Bau is pleased to announce the launch of an Arts and Culture Fund focused on supporting creative people and promoting professional development and creative activity.

This fund will help creators develop outstanding works, expand creative activities, and contribute to the creative atmosphere of the region, which will benefit the entire community.

  • Helping to grow creative projects in your community, adding value to your local creative community, and owning your own work.
  • Helps to develop the local arts community.
  • Provides opportunities for the wider community to experience and engage with the arts.
  • We work with local creatives, residents and community groups on projects, creating opportunities for creatives to collaborate with each other.

Funding Information

  • Qualified applicants may apply for financial assistance of up to $2,000.
  • You may only apply once per 12-month funding year (Tier 1 and Tier 2 make up a funding year).

Eligible Projects

  • The fund supports projects that achieve one or more of the following criteria:
    • Deliver creative projects or initiatives that meet the goals of Baw Baw Shire Council’s Creative Communities Strategy.
    • To promote the professional development or practice of creative professionals and groups who live or work within the municipal boundaries of Bow Bow Shire.
    • Demonstrates broad community benefit.
    • It builds on the creative industries of the region and demonstrates clear benefits to the local creative sector.

Qualification criteria

  • Residents of Bowbow Shire or creative practitioners whose creative activities are primarily based in Bowbow Shire.
  • Organizations and community groups that work with local creatives to foster the work of creative practitioners and develop creative projects that have broad benefits for the community.
  • This project is located and delivered in the Baw Baw Shire.
  • Residents who wish to develop expertise in the creative industries.
  • The fund actively encourages applicants from creative industries serving youth and/or indigenous communities.
  • Applicants under the age of 18 may apply, but must have proof of parental/guardian consent. If successful, you must confirm directly with your parent/guardian.
  • Only one submission is allowed per project, per funding year.
