On any given day, PAM works to ensure that populations, and especially vulnerable populations, especially women and children, do not have access to supplementary nutrients needed to lead productive and healthy lives.

Context and justification of the article:

The United Nations World Food Programme is one of the largest humanitarian agencies operating throughout the world. For reasons of its global commitment to protection policies and responsibility for the affected populations, the PAM is committed to improving the integration of protection in the context of its response in the RDC and in South Kivu in particular

The Assistant. Protection work in international cooperation with the program sections also includes logistics, the chain of authorization and external coordination with those responsible for genre and protection based at the level of the zone office in Goma to support the integration Protection and Responsibility for the Affected Population (AAP) of the PAM and the interventions of the PAN in the provinces of South Kivu and Maniema.

BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES (list only indicative and not exhaustive):

Under the supervision of the head of the program in Bukavu and with the application technique of the genre and protection officer based for Goma and Kinshasa.

The assistant protects the following key responsible persons:

1. Working with the respective units and those responsible for genre and protection to achieve the fastest possible protection risks in the intervention zones;
2. Be aware of the following risk mitigation measures and other recommendations for PAM’s activities in collaboration with equipment programs and collaborating partners.
3. Please consult the consultation of the affected population and beneficiaries to determine what assistance you will receive from PAM and what your preferences are
4. Contributor to the development and implementation of community engagement and awareness raising in collaboration with Unités Communications, Humanitarian Access and Section Programmes
5. Carry out regular site visits to carry out the verification and ensure compliance with the protection list for each activity and respect for the rights of the beneficiaries.
6. Contributor to the development of the messages and the necessary resources (images, banners, radio stations) to raise awareness among the affected population and collect information based on preferences adapted to a specific genre, age, language, etc.
7. Community awareness-raising activities on multiple issues do not provide protection against exploitation and sexual abuse.
8. Apply for on-site deployment and the function of community feedback and complaints (Comité Communautaire, des Plaintes, Tables des Plaintes, Boites …)
9. Contributor and Officer for Protection and the way of organizing and facilitating training sessions for PAM staff and collaborating partners for protection and thematic annexes
10. Land resettlement contractors to ensure the formation of community structures, community leaders and other parties involved in the implementation of PAM activities for protection, including protection against exploitation and sexual abuse.
11. Contributor to the activities of integration of protection and renewal by the person responsible for protection and the genre;
12. They are available and coordinate with the protection and genre officer, participate in meetings of the protection cluster, the sub-cluster of genre-based violence (VBG), protection for the public and the working groups respectively at the Bukavu level;
13. Participants in meetings for the protection of the public administration and the zone office;

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Education:

• The candidate holds a diploma in secondary studies, a bachelor’s degree in social sciences, international affairs, international relations, law, genre studies or other relevant fields for international development/humanitarian aid.

Experience Souhaitée:

• Only 5 years ago, I gained relevant professional experience in integration or competition on protection issues and humanitarian responses at RDC.
• Experience a lot of work with mobilization and community engagement.
• Experience of working with community structures through group discussions, participants with informants, awareness-raising and education initiatives on site.
• Familiarity with the tools for conducting protection risk assessments at the community level is an absolute must.

Knowledge and skills:

• Motivated to work to integrate protection into PAM operations (nutrition, livelihood activities, urgency and school canteens).
• Team spirit, desire to take initiatives and collaborate with other PAM technicians and partners at work.
• The ability to deliver more performance can also be operated under pressure
• Ability to maintain and build professional relationships with a variety of actors.

Language skills:
