Eligibility/Qualification–
Ph.D. degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Ceramics, Materials Science & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering. Candidates with experience in materials processing, high temperature experiments, metallography, use of characterizations tools such as SEM/TEM, XRD, Mechanical properties measurement (Tensile Strength, Hardness) etc will be preferred. A good understanding of interfacial phenomena in metal-ceramic composites, thermodynamics, and process kinetics is desirable. The candidate must be self-driven.

Project title: Development of Cost-Effective Ceramic Preforms with Superior infiltration Ability to Produce Wear Resistance Metal Matrix composites for mining applications
About the project: We have an opening for a Project Research Scientist for a period of one year on development of wear resistant metal matrix composites with use of suitable ceramic preforms.
Job Profile:
Literature review & analysis, ceramic powder processing, shape forming, metal-ceramic composite fabrication, microstructral analysis, mechanical properties determination, preparing presentations, communicating the results.
Pay Details:
Level PR-O2: Salary range from Rs.42000 to Rs. 84000 + Rs.7500.00/- Out Of Campus Allowance (if applicable) p.m.
General information:
The position is temporary for a period of 1 year and tenable only for the duration of the project. The appointment is for time bound project and the candidate is required to work mainly for the successful completion of the project. The selection committee may offer lower or higher designation and lower or higher salary depending upon the experience and performance of the candidate in the interview.
