Category

• Arts, Culture and Festivals: This category celebrates the dedicated volunteers who make Ireland’s wonderful community festivals and events possible, and those who support the many arts and cultural activities that take place across Ireland.
• Campaigns and Activism: This category is for people who volunteer to bring about change, campaign to raise awareness or fund a cause they care about, and hope to bring about positive change in Irish society. I commend you.
• Children and Young People: This category recognizes dedicated volunteers who support children and young people in Irish society.
• Environment and Animal Care: This category celebrates volunteers who dedicate their time to caring for animals and/or the local environment.
• Health and Wellbeing: This category recognizes volunteers who are committed to improving the health and wellbeing of people across Ireland, including those who provide support to people with additional needs or disabilities.
• Safety and Emergency Services: This category recognizes volunteers who work to keep our communities safe by providing volunteer emergency services, safety awareness and training.
• Social Inclusion and Community Support: This category is for volunteers who work to ensure there is a place for everyone in Irish society and support their communities, whether that be the county, at-risk groups or local neighbourhoods. We recognize dedicated people.
• Sports and Recreation: This category celebrates the incredible amount of volunteers who share their time to support sports and recreation activities in their communities.

Eligibility Criteria

• Individual Volunteers and Volunteer Duos
  • Anyone can nominate a volunteer. You can nominate an individual volunteer or a duo of volunteers in one of eight categories.
• volunteer group
  • Groups of volunteers can be nominated based on their collective performance, and there are small group categories (3-20 volunteers), large group categories (20+ volunteers) and COVID-19 group categories.
• resource manager
  • This category celebrates those who lead volunteers and manage volunteer programs. Behind Ireland’s thousands of volunteers are equally dedicated individuals who recruit, train, support, recognize and manage. These are the people who inspire volunteers and create an environment where volunteerism can be successful. This category differs in that candidates can be in paid or unpaid positions (activities in all other categories must be performed voluntarily and unpaid).
