Introducing Drag and Drop to Reorder Items in Microsoft Lists

You asked, and we listened! We’re excited to announce the long-awaited ability to reorder list items with drag and drop in Microsoft Lists! This new feature lets you easily reorder list items to better organize all your busy lists.

Easily drag and drop items

Now you can drag and drop seamlessly with this new feature in Microsoft Lists! You can easily start organizing items in a new or existing list using this option.

You can drag and drop multiple items at once to reorder them, giving you more ways to organize your work and keep it up to date.

Select multiple items in the Microsoft list and drag the cursor to change their order.

Custom orders are saved in the full list and can be switched to custom order mode at any time by changing the sorting. Custom Order.

Working from different perspectives

The drag-and-drop functionality in Microsoft Lists is very versatile, supporting reordering across different views. Board View and View gallery. Even if you group or filter items, you can easily rearrange them to suit your needs.

Move up and down

There is a move up/down functionality implemented for keyboard users and screen reader users. More Actions > More And you will find the following options: Move down or Move up List items.
