Candidates for the Postdoctoral Research Award are qualified and promising researchers at a relatively early stage in their careers. Applicants must work under the guidance of a sponsoring mentor who is committed to providing a supportive learning environment and professional development opportunities. Applicants must apply for this award under the supervision of a sponsoring mentor, but the proposed research project is expected to be developed and pursued independently by the applicant. funds information Fellowship grants are awarded up to $50,000 for one year. Eligibility Criteria Clinical and basic/fundamental research will be considered. You may submit one application per sponsoring mentor each year. Interested applicants are encouraged to discuss their intention to apply with their mentor. If multiple applicants from the same mentor submit applications, only the application submitted first will be considered. Investigators must have an MD degree. Applicants do not have to be U.S. citizens. Applicants must be affiliated with an eligible U.S. non-profit research organization and complete all grant-funded research. Preference is given to postdoctoral researchers with research training or experience within 4 years of receiving a bachelor’s or doctoral degree. (Excluding clinical training). Applications with co-PI will not be accepted. Only one sponsored mentor is allowed per application. Applicant may or may not have received an NIH R01 grant or equivalent. Applicants cannot apply for funding if they have already received a grant from ANRF. Applicants cannot apply for a postdoctoral fellowship and a different ANRF grant in the same grant cycle. The ANRF Fund awards grants annually based on funding availability and number of applications accepted. If multiple proposals are received from a single laboratory, division, or department, additional administrative review may occur to determine funding priorities.
