Mbv3 General Availability

With the launch of memory-optimized Mv3 Medium Memory in November 2023, demand for additional storage optimization has increased. Today we are excited to announce that the new Mbv3 series (Mbsv3 and Mbdsv3), both storage-optimized and memory-optimized, is now generally available.

Key features of the new Mbv3 VM

  • Memory-Optimized and Storage-Optimized Mbv3 VMs (Mbsv3 and Mbdsv3) series are based on 4th generation Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors and scale workloads up to 4TB and feature an NVMe interface for higher remote disk storage performance.
  • These new VM sizes deliver up to 650,000 IOPS, a 5x increase in network throughput compared to the previous M Series family.
  • These new VM sizes also offer up to 10GBps of remote disk storage bandwidth, a 2.5x improvement in remote storage bandwidth over the previous M Series family.
  • The improved remote storage performance of these VMs makes them ideal for storage throughput-intensive workloads such as relational databases and data analytics applications.
  • Building on the intelligence of previous generations, it was designed from the ground up to increase resilience to failures in memory, disk, and networking.
  • Both disk and diskless products are available, giving customers the flexibility to choose the option that best suits their workload needs.
