The evolution of VPNs Over the past few months, we’ve made it easier to stay safer online with automatic detection and notification of unsecured Wi-Fi, expanded Privacy Protection to support all device platforms, and rolled out Privacy Protection features to more countries. The feature is available in more countries, including the US, UK, Germany, and Canada. And more countries are coming soon. We’re adding privacy features in 10 countries.5 It will soon be released in Europe, Asia and LATAM regions. Unsecure Wi-Fi detected (Available in Defender for Android, iOS, and Windows. Coming soon to macOS) These are usually public Wi-Fi hotspots that have weak security encryption, potentially putting your personal data at risk. With insecure Wi-Fi notifications, you can seamlessly turn on protection with Defender in just one click. Support to automatically enable VPN on public Wi-Fi is coming soon. Enhanced mobile detection with suspicious Wi-Fi detection (Available in Defender for Android and iOS. Coming soon to Windows and macOS) Added detection for insecure Wi-Fi (suspicious Wi-Fi). This detection is possible using Defender heuristics, which examine several characteristics of a Wi-Fi hotspot to determine if it is suspicious. Just like insecure Wi-Fi, you can also get notified about insecure Wi-Fi and turn on Defender VPN for added security.
