Applications are now open for an Ontario Arts Council program that supports professional artists to create, record and produce songs and music in French.

This policy promotes the development of song and music artists by allowing artists to focus on their creative or production projects, prioritizing access to cutting-edge human and technological resources to realize their projects, and supporting artists to publicize their work.

Category

  • The program is divided into five categories:
    • Creation: A project to create a new song or musical piece through composing music, writing lyrics, or both.
    • Creating a Demo or EP: Includes all steps from recording to release (for an EP).
    • Making a Full Album: Covers all stages from recording to album release.
    • Show Development: This is the stage where a new show consisting of original French songs is prepared, with a known date and location, and the audience is physically or virtually present (e.g. online broadcast, radio broadcast).
