The scholarship focuses on Molecular Plant Biologywith a focus on redox biology, plant stress responses and biochemistry.


Description of the scholarship

The research position is located in the Laboratory of Molecular Botany, which studies the local and dynamic responses of plant cells to oxidative stress. The aim of the project is to find out how plants survive under dynamic and adverse environmental conditions. The successful candidate will be involved in the planning, execution and analysis of experiments, using standard methods of molecular biology, confocal microscopy and genetically encoded biosensors. Other tasks include developing new methods, improving scientific research skills, participating in national and international projects and presenting results at conferences.


Eligibility

  • Previous education: A Master of Science, diploma or equivalent degree in Biology, biochemistry, agricultural sciences or a related field.
  • Research motivation: High motivation to develop and carry out a research project with a focus on molecular biology.
  • Research interests: A keen interest in redox biology, microscopy and plant model organisms.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in an international team.
  • Language skills: Advanced English skills are required. Knowledge of German is an advantage but not essential.
