Ph.D. Fellowship for Naturally Derived Double-Crosslinked Granular Hydrogels

Title: Doctoral student

Research area: Naturally derived double-crosslinked granular hydrogels

Location: EPFL, Switzerland

Eligibility/Qualification:

• Background in Materials science, chemistry, chemical engineering, physical chemistry, nanotechnology or related disciplines
• High motivation to work on challenging projects in an interdisciplinary environment
• Ability to conduct research, formulate hydrogels and characterize their mechanical properties
• Previous knowledge of 3D printing, rheology or biomaterials is an advantage
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

Job description:
The successful candidate will help formulate naturally derived double-network granule hydrogels with tunable mechanical properties and make these hydrogels responsive for applications in biomedicine and soft robotics. The role will include compositional optimization, microstructure characterization, and evaluation of the mechanical properties of the hydrogels. In addition, the candidate will collaborate on innovative research projects and contribute to the advancement of the field of hydrogel technology.
